What is an AMERICAN Sales Engineer?

Sales Engineers work in District Sales Offices or satellite locations throughout the United States. They travel extensively throughout their territories to serve customers on a face-to-face basis.

Their client base includes four major groups: (1) Owners such as Municipalities and Water Companies; (2) Consulting Engineers who design for Owners; (3) Contractors who buy and install products on construction projects for Owners and Consulting Engineers; and (4) Distributors who complement Sales Engineers in sales and marketing. Sales Engineers undergo an extensive initial training program and continue training on a regular basis throughout their careers. The majority of these sales professionals have engineering degrees and are fully capable of responding to technical inquiries.
